We took Ethan in today for his 6-month check-up and immunization shots and are more than happy to report that it was his best visit yet. His pediatrician didn’t even have to send us to any other doctors or hospitals. Victory! For those of you keeping score at home, he weighed in at 16 lbs, 1.5 oz (25%); he’s 26″ tall (50%…moving on up), and his head is 17 1/4″ (50%).
He seems to be doing everything he should be doing (or at least everything the nurse quizzed us on), including sitting up, turning over, babbling, smiling, following things with his eyes, pooping regularly (I consider this to be the most vital), and sleeping through the night. Most of those, he’s been doing for a while. The sitting up is fairly new, which has been a lot of fun. Now that he knows he can do it, he rarely wants to be on his back. “Mom, come on! I’ve been on my back for six months. I want to see the world!”
Last weekend, we headed to Tomball (Hans’ hometown, which counts as “the world,” right?), where Hans was officiating a wedding. It was Ethan’s first visit to his father’s homeland and his first wedding. (of this couple; Hans has known the groom, his younger brother’s friend, for years):
He also got to meet Annie Beth, his…um…second cousin? The daughter of Hans’ cousin, Aimee.
Here are some more pics from the past…month?
